Five Characters. Five Writers. One Story.

Five by Five is a series of five short films that follow five different characters across London and challenge identity. It was produced by Idris Elba's Green Door Pictures with BBC Drama. It stars Idris Elba alongside upcoming talent including Georgina Campbell (BAFTA-winner Murdered by Boyfriend, Broadchurch), Ruth Madeley (BAFA Breakthrough Brit), Mawaan Rizwan (Carnage, BBC), Michael Ajao (Cuffs, Attack the Block), Ben Tavassoli (New Blood) and Sope Dirisu (Humans, Screen International Star of Tomorrow). It was shot by Ruairi O'Brien (The Fall) and features a score by Patrick Jonsson (composer of the Oscar-winning The White Helmets)

Kate Herron directed every single episode of the series and is the first director handpicked by Idris to direct a Narrative Fiction project for his production company.

Five by Five was the Sunday Times Critics Pick of the Week and was one in the top three of most popular shows on BBC iPlayer in it's first week online.
